Lake Craig

The Lake Craig/Azalea Road Project is the highest priority in the Swannanoa Watershed Flood Risk Management Project and will provide additional flood protection to the area downstream of the Lake Craig dam. The project will also improve access to Azalea Park and provide a much needed water connection to the John B. Lewis Soccer Complex.   This project went in front of the City of Asheville Planning & Zoning Commission and received approval on February 6, 2013.  In conversation with COA staff, construction contracts are in the works with expected completion in 2015.  Click link to see current blog posts.
